Morning Light over the Cathedral Group of the Teton Range and Beaver Ponds along the Snake River at Upper Schwabacher Landing. South Teton, Nez Perce Peak, Middle Teton, Grand Teton, Mount Owen, Teewinot Mountain create a mirror reflection in the still waters of the beaver ponds, as the last warm glow of morning light hangs on among the snow covered peaks of the Cathedral Range. A beaver dam is visible on the left side of this photo. The beaver dams slow down the river here, creating these stunning pools of calm water that create underrated reflections when compared to its more famous, more crowded cousin Lower Schwabacher Landing to the north of here.

Upper Schwabacher Landing: The Hidden Gem of Grand Teton National Park's Big Four
Upper Schwabacher Landing is a calmer, quieter, less crowded place where you can find peace and solitude amongst the wonders of nature. Below the beaver dams, the water speeds up and combines with branching arms of the Snake River as it flow through the wetlands lining the Jackson Hole Valley floor. It's a wonderful site to witness the branching arms of the Snake River come together as it flows through the wetlands and valley floor while the Teton Range rises above. Above the beaver dams, the water slows down into a series of serene pools that rival the famous reflections of Lower Schwabacher Landing 0.4 miles further to the north. It's a stunning sight, especially in the morning when morning light illuminates the Teton Range as it rises above this magnificent place. The wetlands here are pretty thick with plant life as you get closer to the river, with obvious sights of Beaver and Moose present. It's a wonderful place to greet the new day, as the stillness of nature allows you to reflect and take in all of the wonders and grandeur which make this place special.
