Storm clouds line the skies above Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe at sunset during a thunderstorm as the warm orange and yellow colors of sunset illuminate the cloud breaks along the horizon and overhead, creating a beautiful mix of light and dark as rain begins to fall over South Lake Tahoe. Fannette Island rises up in the middle of Emerald Bay as Snow Valley Peak, Duane Bliss Peak, Genoa Peak and the Carson Range sub-range of the Sierra Nevada rise up across Lake Tahoe.
Warm sunset light illuminates Genoa Peak and the slopes of Duane Bliss Peak as the sunset colors light the horizon above. Faint bits of yellow light the thin parts of the thunderstorm clouds as a fantastic mix of shadows and light plays out overhead. There's something beautiful about a storm rolling in, especially at sunset when the colors come together to create a moment of perfect harmony were time stands still.
