Mount Hood
Mount Hood, the tallest mountain in the State of Oregon, is part of the Cascade Range. Its towering presence can be seen across the state, from Oregon’s largest city (Portland) to Hood River and further east. On a still day, the waters of Trillium Lake, Mirror Lake and Lost Lake can create picture perfect reflections of the peak and surrounding areas. Known as Wy'east by the Multnomah Tribe, Mount Hood is one of Oregon’s most famous landmarks. Mount Hood is also home to 12 named glaciers and snow fields. For years, there has been a movement to turn Mount Hood into a National Park, though the movement has gained little traction.
